Armenia is pivoting away from Russia and towards the West—to a future of deeper ties with Europe. Today’s decision by the EU Foreign Affairs Council to provide European Peace Facility funding to Armenia and to work towards visa liberalisation is excellent and important news.

The images of refugees fleeing Nagorno-Karabakh are a failure of the international community. For months warnings of ethnic cleansing were ignored. Now it has happened. The world must stand with democratic Armenia and give all the humanitarian support needed.

Ukraine will win this war. However, our hesitation to supply heavy weapons allowed Russia to fortify its defences in eastern and southern Ukraine. We must not make the same mistake again. We must give Ukraine all it needs to kick out the invaders, without exception. @LBCNews
