9 weeks until Brazil's election and Flávio Bolsonaro still does not have a running mate. He offered the job this week to Tereza Cristina Corrêa, a very widely respected senator and former ag minister -- but her party vetoed the nomination because it wants to remain neutral in the Oct 4 election. Several other parties from the so-called Centrão bloc have also turned down formal alliances with the Bolsonaros. Reasons vary, & sometimes get into weeds of regional Brazilian politics, but the impression is of a struggling candidacy and politicians looking to keep their options open. Flávio could still win, but this snub was embarrassing and he is running out of time for a comeback
