The West believes in democracy, but not when governments it doesn't like are elected. It respects sovereignty unless it decides to invade, as in Iraq. It supports Taiwan's self-determination, not Kashmir's or the Kurds'. It supports human rights, but not in oil-rich countries. It stands up for human rights, unless it is not in its interest, as in Saudi Arabia. Otherwise, the West has… principles.
