My friend Airlangga Pribadi Kusman (1976-2026) died today in Gatot Subroto Army Central Hospital in Jakarta (Indonesia). He was a remarkable political scientist, only 49 years old. Angga was the author of 'Merahnya Ajaran Bung Karno : Narasi Pembebasan ala Indonesia' (2023) and the most recently published books 'Biografi Politik Puan Maharani : Digembleng oleh Keadaan' (2026) and 'Marhaenisme: Dalil Baru untuk Gen Z' (2026). I hope that we can translate the latter and publish it in English. He wrote the introduction to the Indonesian translation of Darker Nations and we were working together with Bonnie Triyana (@bonnietriyana) on a collection of the works of Bung Karno Sukarno for @gdnpress. We had such a wonderful time recently when Atul (@AtulCha83952246), Tings (@t_ings), and I travelled across Indonesia with him and others. It is shocking to have lost this talented and energetic, brilliant and generous friend. Selamat jalan, teman.
