Formula One is returning to Africa for the first time in over three decades.
Rwanda has secured a landmark 10-year deal to host the "African Grand Prix", starting in the early 2030s. The race will be held at a newly built Grade One circuit near Kigali, which will be designed by former Formula 1 driver Alex Wurz, alongside long-time F1 track specialists Tilke Engineers & Architects.
The deal fulfils a long-standing effort by F1 to race on every inhabited continent, returning to Africa for the first time since the 1993 South African Grand Prix at Kyalami
