More than 200 international film and cultural figures have urged the Venice Film Festival to fly the Palestinian flag throughout this year’s edition, citing the inclusion of two Palestinian films in the official selection. In an open letter, the Venice4Palestine initiative said the flag should be displayed alongside those representing other countries with films in the selection. The festival features Ahmed Hassouna’s *Al Mowaten Osama (Citizen Osama)* and Muayad Alayan’s *Hiwar ma’ albahr (Conversation with the Sea)*. The letter also called on film, media and cultural workers to express solidarity with Palestinians and boycott entities and institutions linked to the Israeli government over the ongoing genocide in Palestine's Gaza and Israel’s attacks in the region. Signatories include directors Matteo Garrone and Marco Simon Puccioni, actors Guy Pearce, Indya Moore and Adele Haenel, musician Roger Waters and Nobel Prize-winning writer Annie Ernaux
