This visit came amid a wave of reporting from media outlets and the family members of Sailors aboard the Lincoln, warning of a mental health crisis onboard the aircraft carrier, with Cooper claiming in his statement, “Here's an important fact: Of the U.S. Navy's 11 active aircraft carriers, the Lincoln currently has among the lowest number of cases related to mental health.”
