I moved back home after the attacks on Gaza began, because to live outside Lebanon during this time felt suffocating. As it did in 2006. I spend my days between the Chiyeh, the Dahye, and the South. I report from there, and speak to people on a daily basis who are humble, steadfast, strong of faith, and resolute in their commitment to the principle of resistance—in word and deed.
Nothing will deter us from this path, come what may.
My mother once said that when the Israelis occupied our villages in South Lebanon, they would walk into our homes and on our land as though they owned everything—not just the land, but the people of it. This humiliation will not be repeated, not now, and not as long as a single soul breathes.
We will rebuild, as will Gaza. And our villages in the South will welcome the people of Palestine as they once did before this occupation began. We will not waver, we will not fall, and our determination will only grow with each passing hour.
I can only speak for myself when I said I'm not afraid. What's written for us has been written. Our dignity is our currency, and we will stand alongside the people of Gaza, sharing sacrifices and an inevitable victory. Our blood, and our path is one.
