Today was a profoundly moving moment for me and @sumedhakailash as Dr. Vashisht Samrat visited us at the @smgc_official office.
Vashisht had been trafficked to Patna with the false promise of a good education. But instead, he was forced into domestic labour, his childhood stolen and dreams silenced. After his rescue, at the age of 7 Vashisht, spent several years with us at Mukti Ashram and @BalAshramJaipur.
I remember asking him, “Do you want to study?” The light in his eyes said more than words ever could, and that light never dimmed. Over the years, I have watched him soar. Vashisht is now an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Delhi. And he continues to give back to society with compassion by helping other suffering children.
