The ITUC strongly condemns the attempted arrest of @kilusangmayouno Chairperson Jerome Adonis and the criminalisation of trade unionists and activists in the Philippines.
Trade union rights, freedom of association and the right to peaceful protest must be respected—not met with intimidation, arrest or prosecution.
We call on the Philippine authorities to immediately drop all charges against Jerome Adonis, Jacq Ruiz and the other labour leaders and activists, and to end the harassment and criminalisation of trade unionists.
