It sounds unbelievable, but it’s true. Alexandre de Moraes is now investigating the Bolsonaro-aligned governor of Rio de Janeiro @claudiocastroRJ and the police officers who led Brazil’s largest operation against the Comando Vermelho — the same criminal faction the U.S. is considering designating a foreign terrorist organization. The same justice sanctioned by the U.S. for censorship, persecuting @jairbolsonaro, jailing his supporters, and even targeting political dissidents and Americans on U.S. soil for what they posted online is now going after the authorities who confronted one of Latin America’s most violent criminal syndicates. While the Comando Vermelho uses drones, grenades, and military-grade rifles to hold neighborhoods hostage, Moraes’s priority is to investigate those who risked their lives to protect the public.
