Wow, that was quite the UN Security Council meeting.
There is a real sense that Council members are out of patience, ideas, and solutions to end the genocide in Gaza.
At the end of the meeting, Algeria's ambassador, Amar Bendjama, asked to take the floor to make more remarks.
He said, among other things, 'this meeting has been painful for us all because we all felt - beyond our countries' positions - we all felt a deep feeling of helplessness, unable to fulfill our mandate. And that is a matter of disgust to us all, and it saddens us all.'
It was a rare admission that the Council has utterly failed on Gaza, unable to find a workaround to six U.S. ceasefire resolution vetoes.
Sierra Leone's ambassador, Michael Kanu, also had strong words related to genocide.
