An Israeli court has closed an investigation into the death of 17-year-old Walid Ahmad. Ahmad died six months after he was arrested and held without charges in Israel's notorious Megiddo Prison for allegedly throwing stones at Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank. An autopsy determined that Ahmad had suffered severe muscle and fat loss. He also had scabies and showed signs of torture. The judge said it was clear he had starved, but that there was insufficient evidence of wrongdoing. A record-high 351 Palestinian children are currently being detained by Israel, according to Defense for Children International-Palestine. Over half have not been charged.
