I know you feel bombarded with bad news as Trump “floods the zone”, but this story deserves your immediate attention. The US government is running literal concentration camps: small cages, solitary confinement, wretched conditions. In history class, we are taught to look back in horror at the 1940s, when we rounded up innocent Japanese migrants and locked them into “internment camps.” Today, we are once again hunting down and rounding up migrants in *record numbers*, from New Jersey to Florida to California. History will not be kind to us, either, if we do not have the courage and conviction to dismantle these cages.
