Yesterday we went to Whole Foods to ask why they’re selling Israeli Dead Sea products. Today, we took the complaint directly to the company. We were pleasantly surprised that someone actually answers the phone and takes down the complaint. So please call! Tell them the names of the products (Dead Sea salts). If they ask for UPC number, the Whole Foods product is 9948245392 and the Dead Sea warehouse brand is 5603500101. Tell them that you have 2 complaints: 1. They are made with resources from the Dead Sea that belong to the Palestinians, but Israel denies the Palestinians access, and 2. This intensive mineral extraction is contributing to the ecological destruction of the Dead Sea. Whole Foods told us they’re forwarding our concerns to their global purchasing team. Keep the pressure on. Corporations should not profit from occupation, exploitation, and environmental destruction.
