Many an idiotic hot take has been had on this godforsaken site about the Lindsay Clancy case. So here’s my take: post-partum depression is quite real. Post-partum psychosis is real but also distinct. People who conflate the two are being foolish. People who dismiss either are being ridiculous. Aside from the obvious tragedy of the triple murder, the only real takeaway for the American people ought to be this: evil is real, but dismissing mental illness as causative of human behavior is doltish. Get the care you need…and at the same time, psychiatric care is not nearly as well-developed as other fields of medicine. Not every tragedy has easy or comforting answers. www.youtube.com/watch
