Elon’s plan to give SpaceX shares to every American kid is great. Also, SpaceX is a great company not because of some form of charitable share-giving, but because it’s innovating and creating. Charity is virtuous and wonderful, and we should all participate as a matter of morality. But free markets have empowered far more people than charity ever has.
