I condemn in the strongest terms the ambush on an @unmissmedia patrol in the Jonglei State of South Sudan by unidentified armed individuals. Two Ethiopian peacekeepers were killed in the attack, while seven others were injured. I express my deep condolences to the families & loved ones of the fallen, and to the people & government of Ethiopia. I wish a swift & full recovery to all those injured. Attacks against @UN peacekeepers are grave violations of international humanitarian law & may amount to war crimes. The UN stands with the victims & their families during this profoundly difficult time.
