Through the African Space Agency and key initiatives such as GMES & Africa and the Africa–EU Space Partnership Programme, the African Union is strengthening the use of Earth observation and space-based technologies to enhance early warning systems, support disaster risk reduction, and improve the management of our environment and natural resources.
In doing so, we are helping Member States respond more effectively to climate risks, protect vulnerable communities, safeguard livelihoods, and conserve biodiversity. Ultimately, this is about building an Africa that is better informed, better prepared, and more resilient for the future.”
