On the sidelines of the ongoing 2026 World Bank Group–IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, H.E. Amb. Selma Malika Haddadi, @DCP_Haddadi, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, held bilateral engagements with the Honourable Ministers of Finance of Zambia, the Republic of the Congo and Burundi.
The discussions focused on strengthening sustainable financing for the African Union and mobilising resources to support the AU's institutional priorities, programmes and the implementation of Africa's continental development agenda.
The engagements also took stock of preparations for the Extraordinary Executive Council of Foreign Affairs and Finance Ministers, scheduled for 13 November 2026 in Accra, Ghana — a decisive milestone in advancing the African Union's reform agenda.
The engagements underscored the importance of predictable, sustainable and adequate financing to strengthen the African Union's institutional capacity, enhance programme delivery and advance the aspirations of #Agenda2063.
