The Africa Urban Forum is a flagship initiative of the African Union, born from the 2022 Cairo Declaration to drive coordinated, biannual dialogue on urban development across the continent. The Africa Urban Forum brings together leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to shape sustainable cities through dialogue, innovation, and collaboration.
From Cairo 2022 to Ethiopia 2024, Africa is building momentum. The inaugural forum reaffirmed that urbanisation is irreversible and must be harnessed for transformation.
The AUF Declaration adopted in Addis Ababa calls for:
