People who use drugs have do not lose their human rights.
Drug use does not strip anyone of their dignity, nor should it expose people to discrimination, disproportionate punishment, violence or other human rights violations.
A human rights-based approach to drug policy means putting people first: protecting health, reducing harm, ensuring fair and proportionate justice, and ending stigma and discrimination.
