Met today with Mr. Tomas Lamanauskas, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (@ITU). We discussed the critical role of digital cooperation, AI governance, and universal connectivity in advancing sustainable development and accelerating the #2030Agenda. I welcomed ITU’s leadership in promoting inclusive digital transformation and global AI cooperation, and highlighted the importance of ensuring that developing countries are not only users of digital technologies but also innovators and contributors to AI governance. We also discussed bridging the digital divide, expanding affordable connectivity and digital skills, and strengthening collaboration through the ECOSOC STI Forum, the WSIS process, and the Internet Governance Forum to support practical, inclusive outcomes on the road to the 2027 SDG Summit. #GlobalGoals #SDGs
