Really pleased to announce the release of a 4K of #BornontheFourthofJuly today, November 12. At least it’s been preserved, and right now, in this marketplace with the studios, there’s just not that much interest in restoring older films unless they’re retroactively deemed financially commercial. Although “Born” was surprisingly successful around the world, it’s been keyholed, probably because of its intensity and insistence on reminding us of the wars we’ve created. For that matter, many of my films have been relegated to the outer space of memory. Thus, my gratitude to @Shout_Studios for doing this, even if on a limited scale. This restoration presents the film the way it was originally presented in theaters in 1989, for which I received a second directing Oscar. @TomCruise came very close to winning an Oscar but barely missed out to Daniel Day-Lewis. It comes with all-new Dolby Atmos, 5.1 Surround, and 2.0 Stereo mixes supervised by the crack Duplitech team, which I’ve approved. I looked at it, and for me, it holds up. I hope it does for you. Needless to say, #RonKovic put his soul into this. Here’s a link to the Shout store’s listing. t.co/6RjKElcL2Z
