Bangladesh is not yet out of trouble. The student leaders (not all students) fell for celebrity politics, a Nobel laureate charged with graft. All the cases against Yunus have been dropped. A friend, knowledgeable on these matters and a leading businessman himself and NOT a sympathiser of the overgrown regime tells me that not all the charges against Yunus were faked. The Telecom case in particular. The Army is backing Yunus and he is liked in Washington too. A banker who believes in the system is in power. Will anything change? I doubt it. Will Yunus form a party. A bit long in the tooth for that. In a fair, unrigged election, the Awami League will not be wiped out. So is the pattern going to follow Egypt after the Arab spring? That looks likely,
