🇬🇧 🇫🇷 At the British Museum, The King and Queen have been joined by The President of France, Emmanuel Macron and Mrs Brigitte Macron, Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Ms Marie-France Van-Heel, to view the Bayeux Tapestry Exhibition. Following a historic agreement between the United Kingdom and France, the Bayeux Tapestry has been loaned by France to the UK for the first time since it was made nearly 1,000 years ago. The Bayeux Tapestry depicts the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066. Curators showed Their Majesties key scenes from the tapestry before joining those involved in the loan in the Museum's Great Court.
