I’m greatly relieved that all the passengers on flyDubai1073 are safe, and I applaud Captain Smit Machchhar of India and the many Israelis who displayed such heroism in preventing what could have been a horrible tragedy. Their brave action saved countless lives, and I wish for their continued safety as today’s events are thoroughly investigated. My thanks to those in Saudi Arabia as well for their warmth, hospitality, and professionalism in dealing with this emergency.
