Regional organizations are essential partners in advancing multilateralism. The UN brings unique legitimacy and convening power; by working hand in hand with regional partners, we can build on their capacities, reinforce collective action and deliver more effective responses to shared challenges. I thank the Philippines for convening the ASEAN New York Committee (ANYC) for a rich and constructive exchange on strengthening UN–regional partnerships, advancing preventive diplomacy and fostering a more agile, effective and responsive United Nations. #newUN @asean_ny
