I met Egypt's Foreign Minister, H.E. Badr Abdelatty (@EgyptForeignMin), on the margins of #UNGA81 this weekend in New York. We discussed my plans to strengthen the role of the United Nations in the global challenges we face, grounded in the Charter and international law. Egypt has been at the table in the negotiations on regional conflicts. It knows how a distant war reaches home, and it carries weight in resolving the conflicts around it. The Secretary-General should work with the regional partners and organizations, support peace efforts and be present in the scenarios of conflict. #newUN
