On July 21, 2026, the House Ways and Means Committee subpoenaed The People’s Forum, demanding internal communications and financial records. The action follows a State Department report, “Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism,” which brands opponents of the Cuba blockade and social justice advocates as left-wing terrorists. Why target The People’s Forum? Because it has mobilized against genocide in Gaza, defended immigrant families from ICE, and opposed the illegal U.S. blockade of Cuba. For standing on the side of humanity, we are being punished. We say NO to the New McCarthyism. We won’t go silent in the face of injustice and demand our First Amendment rights! When we stand together, we win.
