The blockade is.” This weekend, hundreds of peace activists, progressive leaders, and artists filled the Schomburg Center in Harlem for Voices for Peace: Cuba Is Not A Threat. We stood with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and a powerful lineup of speakers—including Rosemari Mealy (former Black Panther Party member), Rachel Domond (ANSWER Coalition), Dailyn Briñas (Cubans4Cuba), and NYC Council Member Alexa Avilés—to demand an end to the U.S. blockade and the unending threats against Cuban sovereignty .‌‌ The message was clear that the blockade is a silent war and a slow genocide designed by the U.S. government.
