Tonight’s class in Socialist Summer School, “The Rising Tide of Socialism” with Amari Butler, looked at movements from the past two decades — from the Iraq War protests to Occupy, Black Lives Matter, the movement for Palestine, and the Minneapolis General Strike as chapters in one ongoing struggle. None achieved everything they set out to, but each deepened people’s understanding of the system, challenged ruling-class power, and left lessons for what came next.
