🇹🇷 The PES led two delegations to #Turkey in the past weeks, in solidarity with @herkesicinCHP and the Mayor of Istanbul @ekrem_imamoglu, who was unfairly jailed by Erdogan's regime. Our President Stefan Löfven and our Secretary General @giacomofilibeck were in #Istanbul on 28 March and this weekend Deputy Secretary Generals @yonnecpolet and @saravanbuer travelled to #Ankara, where they also met CHP leader @eczozgurozel. We stand in solidarity with protestors in Turkey and with the democratic opposition. We reiterate our call to President Erdoğan to immediately release İmamoğlu and to cease attacks on the media and protestors who are reporting on the upheaval.
