Europe’s deadliest summer on record. And climate change is making extreme heat deadlier.
More than 50,000 people died prematurely from heat across European cities this summer, with scientists linking a significant share of these deaths to human-induced climate change.
The cost of climate inaction is measured in human lives. We must cut emissions, accelerate the transition to clean energy and stop global warming from making future summers even deadlier.
We cannot afford to wait.
