People across Europe are taking to the streets. Their concerns deserve answers. The protests have different demands, but many share concerns about making ends meet, finding an affordable home and accessing quality education. We stand with those peacefully calling for better living conditions. These concerns must shape political choices: investment in schools and public services, better wages, and action to make housing affordable. We unequivocally condemn violence, looting and attacks on people and public buildings. There is no justification for these acts. They endanger lives, harm communities, and undermine the voices of peaceful protesters. The right to peaceful protest must be protected. People deserve to be heard and to see action that improves their daily lives.
