Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annie Dillard has died. She was 81. Her 1974 book “Pilgrim at Tinker Creek” drew comparisons to Henry David Thoreau as a nonfiction meditation on nature, religion and the meaning of life itself. In 2014, then-President Barack Obama awarded her the National Humanities Medal.
