President Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend oral arguments at the Supreme Court on Wednesday when he sat in to hear a case challenging his executive order aimed at restricting birthright citizenship. He attended the proceedings for 90 minutes and left after his solicitor general, D. John Sauer, finished his arguments on why Trump's order should be upheld. Trump departed the courtroom as the American Civil Liberties Union's legal director Cecillia Wang made her opposing argument. "We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow 'Birthright' Citizenship!" Trump later wrote on social media. More than 30 countries, mainly in the Western Hemisphere, guarantee citizenship to children born on their soil. Images by Dana Verkouteren
