At today’s Joint Expeditionary Force Leaders’ Summit I also had a meeting with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer of the United Kingdom.
We discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, the importance of a strong European pillar within NATO, and the need to provide ongoing support for Ukraine and ramp up the pressure on Russia. In this connection we also reflected on further measures to tackle the ships that make up the Russian shadow fleet, which circumvent sanctions by sailing under a false flag.
The UK is a key partner for the Netherlands in many areas. I look forward to speaking with Prime Minister Starmer at greater length in the near future.
