Ahead of this week’s European Council, I spoke today with Prime Minister @sanchezcastejon of Spain, a valued EU partner and NATO ally. Among the subjects we discussed was the need to strengthen the EU single market. For Europe, the single market is the key to ensuring a robust geopolitical position, and it is the engine of our economy.
This presents opportunities for cooperation between our countries. We also spoke about our ongoing support for Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. It is vital that we all carefully monitor Europe’s interests and help protect our EU partners, as both the Netherlands and Spain are currently doing with Cyprus.
