Hayden Panettiere’s honesty about postpartum depression, addiction, trauma and recovery have been powerful forces for good in this world. I read that she wanted to make the world better with the remainder of her life. I wish she knew how much she did just that.
I am one of these women. I have been legally abused by Andrew Cuomo for years after being harassed as his staffer. Now he wants to be mayor. Shame on you Cuomo and thank you ⁦@ZohranKMamdani⁩ for speaking out on this injustice.
What’s the word for when a corporation brings in a woman after every man has failed and it’s virtually impossible for her to succeed because so much structural and fundamental failure has happened before she even walked in the door?
My husband: I don’t want a dog. We don’t need a dog. We don’t have time for one. My husband 2 years later: I read an article about dog emotional well-being & we should stop saying goodbye when we leave because Truffle will be more sad. We don’t want her to worry when we’re…
I just think we don’t need to make fun of how a woman looks or dresses simply because we don’t like her politics. That’s misogyny. Stick to policy people.
Elon Musk didn’t like his Twitter offer being rejected by Donald Trump. Why, the fuck, did a picture of a half naked woman and a priest being propositioned by said woman seem the right parallel to him? Because he sexualizes & disrespects women. In two words - rape culture…
I’m literally not going to wait five days for legacy media to report on the things I see on twitter in five minutes. That’s another reason it’s vital.
It’s not about Musk suspending Kathy Griffin from Twitter (or anyone else who impersonates him for that matter). It’s about making you just uncomfortable enough to avoid tweets critical of him or posting that next expose on him. That’s the goal and that’s fascism.
Amazing to me that there was a story about Elon Musk having to pay off a flight attendant he had give him sexual massages on the corporate plane and that he tried to give her a pony to keep her silent and now we are hearing nothing except him buying Twitter. How things work.
The most powerful tool of oppression is keeping you so busy with the daily struggle that you don’t have the time to connect all the dots and become truly enraged.
The richest man on the planet, and possibly in history, zeroed out a black woman professor because he felt her anger and her words were not acceptable and he felt he was the right person to put her in her place. Says quite a lot.
Don’t pretend for a second that any victim will come across as “credible” by the time powerful men are done making them look the opposite in our culture.
Just thinking about all the dudes over the years who told me it was silly to make my vote about abortion access. How, one after the other they said Roe v Wade had settled the issue and I shouldn’t be so “small-mind” and binary in my thinking…
From the beginning, I simply asked that the Governor stop his abusive behavior. It became abundantly clear he was unable to do that, instead attacking and blaming victims until the end. It is a tragedy that so many stood by and watched these abuses happen.
🧵: I am tired of being asked about homelessness as a blight for people who have homes to experience and not as a life and death problem for people experiencing homelessness.
Happy #LovingDay! My husband and I wouldn’t have been able to marry for most of the last century in America. Today, I am especially grateful for Mildred & Richard Loving’s bravery which led to the historic SCOTUS decision that legalized interracial marriage. 🧡🧡

My abuser used the full force of state government, of all his power, to destroy me when I spoke out. He did not destroy me. He will not destroy me. I will help dismantle his abuse of power.
Like a true abuser, @NYGovCuomo continues to work behind the scenes to undermine the truth and to harm his many victims. His abuse of power never ends. He does not get to choose his judge and jury. We do. And what is abundantly clear to me is the governor should resign.
Andrew Cuomo wouldn’t understand the concept of mentorship if it punched him in the face. He grooms women to feel like they have no way out. That’s the training he does. I’ll have more to say tomorrow.
I am grateful for the support I’ve received since telling my story – not just from people in New York but across the country. When we show up & support victims, we make it easier for others to come forward. Only by shining a light on this kind of abuse will we be able to end…
I’m angry to be put in this situation at all. That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently. I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power.
Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it. No one. And I *know* I am not the only woman.
Yes, @NYGovCuomo sexually harassed me for years. Many saw it, and watched. I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years.
My first experience of workplace sexual harassment was when my mom got her first real office job after graduating from college when I was in high school. She was so excited to be taken “seriously.” Her bossed isolated her and kissed her. She never had that type of job again.
