A major achievement for Portugal on the highest stage of international politics. Our election as a non-permanent member of the @UN Security Council honours us and enhances Portugal’s standing in the world. Over the next two years, we will continue to be bridge-builders and champions of dialogue and cooperation, as recognised and valued by other nations. We will stand for Human Rights, the fight against poverty, and a strong commitment to sustainability and development, while keeping a constant focus on future generations. This election is the result of the efforts of many, particularly the contributions of both the former and current President of the Republic, as well as the @govpt, with special recognition to Minister @PauloRangel_pt and the entire team @nestrangeiro_pt, especially those in New York, whom we warmly congratulate. Now, it is time to get to work. For a stronger Portugal and a more effective United Nations. 🇵🇹 🇺🇳
