My thoughts go out to Minnesota, the families, friends, colleagues, and everyone impacted by last night’s horrific and cowardly acts of political violence.
Democracies have a fundamental responsibility to ensure that anyone who chooses to serve politically can do so free from both violence and threats of violence. Without that freedom, democracy cannot long survive.
