대한민국과 영국은 자유, 민주주의, 법치라는 공동의 가치를 바탕으로 안보와 경제, 첨단기술, 문화 등 다양한 분야에서 협력을 확대해 온 글로벌 전략적 동반자입니다. 오늘 앤 영국 공주님을 만나 양국이 앞으로 함께 만들어갈 미래 협력 방안에 대해 뜻깊은 대화를 나눴습니다. 故 엘리자베스 2세 여왕님의 1999년 국빈 방한에 이어 이번 앤 공주님의 방한은 대한민국과 영국 왕실 간 오랜 우의를 다시 한번 확인하는 계기가 되었습니다. 우리의 교류가 양국 국민의 우정과 신뢰를 더욱 깊게 하는 밑거름이 될 것이라 믿습니다. 영국은 2027년, 대한민국은 2028년 G20 정상회의 의장국을 맡게 됩니다. 국제사회의 평화와 번영, 지속가능한 발전을 위해 양국이 글로벌 리더십을 함께 발휘해 나가길 기대합니다. 오늘의 만남이 한영 관계를 한층 더 발전시키는 계기가 되었으면 좋겠습니다. The Republic of Korea and the United Kingdom are Global Strategic Partners that have steadily expanded cooperation across security, the economy, advanced technologies, culture, and many other areas, grounded in our shared values of freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. Today, I was pleased to meet Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and exchange views on how our two countries can further deepen our partnership in the years ahead. Following Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Visit to the Republic of Korea in 1999, this visit by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal has once again reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the Republic of Korea and the British Royal Family. I am confident that these exchanges will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and trust between our two peoples. The United Kingdom will host the G20 Summit in 2027, followed by the Republic of Korea in 2028. I look forward to our two countries demonstrating global leadership together in promoting peace, prosperity, and sustainable development. I hope today’s meeting will serve as another meaningful step forward in advancing the Korea–UK partnership.
