A team of scientists at the @HebrewU of Jerusalem have made a discovery that could change the way the world grows food - and it starts with a fungus.
The researchers found a way to dramatically boost production of food crops - and make them taste better at the same time. In tests, tomatoes grew 60 percent heavier, and melons produced roughly five times more fruit than usual. Plants also grew faster and were ready to harvest sooner - all without using a single chemical fertilizer or pesticide.
