The International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF) welcomes the decision by UK Counterterrorism Police (Scotland Yard) to charge three individuals in connection with the attack on our Permanent Representative for Pakistan, Adil Raja(@soldierspeaks).
While the investigation remains ongoing, the fact that the accused are career criminals with histories of violent convictions lends significant weight to allegations of transnational repression by the Pakistani regime. These charges substantiate long-standing concerns voiced by IHRF and other human rights organizations regarding the regime’s systematic targeting of dissidents, both domestically and abroad.
We commend Scotland Yard for its diligence and urge that these proceedings pave the way for identifying and apprehending the masterminds and financiers behind this sophisticated, planned attack. This case must serve as a firm stand against state-sponsored intimidation on UK soil.
