Great to be at @FIU today to announce the launch of Coalition for Operational Readiness in Education (CORE) Program partnerships in higher education. CORE partnerships with @FLSERT and other state agencies will offer students specialized education and training in emergency management, industry-recognized certificates, and pathways to employment with emergency management offices and industry partners throughout Florida. Florida leads the country in emergency management and response. Maintaining that capability requires investing in the people who will dedicate their careers to helping our state prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters and other emergencies.   CORE is rolling out first at FIU in Miami, and 11 institutions so far have committed to participating in the program. Our goal is to reach every college, university, technical school and trade school in Florida and create a model for emergency management workforce development that can be replicated across the country.
