Great to be in Orlando today to highlight Florida’s landmark investments in cancer research and treatment. Nearly 40% of Floridians will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. We are committed to supporting them and their families in any way we can.   We have increased funding for cancer research to record levels during my time as governor. Initiatives like the Casey DeSantis Cancer Research Program, the Cancer Connect Collaborative, and the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund are supporting patients while enabling researchers to pursue the next generation of treatments and cures.   Today, I was proud to announce the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund awardees who were selected through a competitive application cycle for Fiscal Year 2025-26 funding. We have also opened applications for Fiscal Year 2026-27, in which we are offering $70 million in funding for Florida cancer researchers and innovators—a $10 million increase.   Congratulations to the awardees, and thank you for all you do to make Florida a beacon of hope in cancer research and treatment.
