We've known each other for about a month and have spoken several times via video call, she from under the tent where her family lives near the Gaza Port, and I from around Italy. Amal is enrolled in her second year of medical school at the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza and wants to specialize in Anesthesia and Intensive Care. Only the administrative office building remains of her university; everything else is gone, but students are still able to take exams online.
