Heavy seasonal rains triggered landslides and flash floods in several woredas of Gamo Zone in #Ethiopia, killing over 60 people, leaving others missing, and displacing thousands who are now sheltering in churches and schools.
@WHO immediately activated an emergency task team and deployed rapid response teams to the affected woredas to support local health authorities. Emergency medical supplies – including trauma kits, cholera treatment materials, nutrition kits for children, and water disinfection supplies – are being prepared for delivery.
WHO will continue to support the local authorities and coordinate with health and humanitarian partners to strengthen the health response.
