As the first day of spring dawns, I extend my warmest wishes to all who celebrate the occasion of Nowruz.
Nowruz means "new day" in Persian.
For many across the Middle East, they will be observing this occasion amidst a devastating war.
My thoughts are with every family separated by conflict and displacement. Those who cannot sit together, share a meal, or even hear each other's voice.
Yet the enduring spirit of Nowruz - of renewal, harmony and hope - can guide us towards a more peaceful place. I urge all parties to seize this opportunity to de-escalate tensions, silence the guns, and forge a just and lasting peace.
As always, the best medicine is peace.
